PS - Thanks for stopping by. I hope you at least find the information contained in this

website, interesting. Especially the Research page, the supporting data for the

effect of sound and rhythm on the human mind at any age is fascinating, at least

to me.

Personal experience in providing sound and rhythm therapy, the effects are stifling.

Most of the participants I perform for are in all stages of dementia and memory

challenges. After numerous sessions they're all smiles when I arrive, and even the

advanced situations are still engaging in drumming even though communication may

be a challenge. One of my participants recently produced a guitar he hadn't played

in a long time, a quick tune for him and he played along. Sharing music with these folks has really been one of the best experiences of my life. I look forward to spreading the music love in the future.

Music Performance

A few examples of music over the years. Over 300 gigs later and a musical journey that has led me to my current adventure, I'm still here. :)

I currently do a solo acoustic act with back tracks recorded by real musicians not the typical karaoke quality songs. Over 400 tunes in my repetoire.

Generally gauge the songlist by the crowd in the vicinity, sometimes it's Zeppelin, sometimes it's Andy Williams.

Testimonials

As LifeStyle director for a local Senior Living Community, my goal is to seek innovative programs, and endless activities that positively impact our residents. We opt to bring in a level of vibrancy and meaningful services.

Our Memory Support residents require a certain level of attention and ability to help awaken sensory memory that sparks boldly experienced sensations from the past. Enter Fred , Music and Sound & Rhythm therapist. His guitar and drumming technique immediately captivated our residents in Memory Support. They responded by instinctively interacting with their drums while following Fred’s counting technique.

Our Memory Support Residents were completely engaged . Our resident's caregivers and surrounding team members also interacted with enthusiasm. As the weeks progressed, various family members made a point of attending Fred’s music sessions and became active participants, alongside their loved ones.

There is no doubt that Fred’s music impacts our residents in a way that other programs have not. Within a couple of months, residents that had preferred or became used to isolation and indifference, were either eager to participate, or would circle Fred as he played on. Whatever the case, we were witnessing an awakening in our residents.

Fred's use of drumming as he leads the group with a cajon and his guitar continues to captivate our Memory Support Residents. Recently he's added pre-recorded music tracks for modern music to aid in providing rhythm stimulus keeping a captive audience. Additionally he adds an exercise feature between songs to ensure there's a body/mind connection in each session.

It’s evident that Fred has a level of care for our residents and is tuned into providing music stimulus for our Memory Support residents that would otherwise not engage. We look forward to having Fred serve our residents and are currently working on teambuilding and community building for all of our residents. We look forward to continuing our working relationship with Fred.
